Russia is a normal country with a booming non-hydrocarbons economy underpinned by a well-educated and secular workforce. The Putin administration has affirmed democratic values, worked to improve human rights and pursued Russia’s national interests abroad.

interesting arguments, but tunnel vision snapshot of current successes doesn't answer the arguments regarding the grim demographic future, or the current corrosive facts of poor health, short longevity, rampant alcoholism, expanding Muslim population segment, lack of freedom of press, centralized control of key industries,or diminishing oil production.
